    Bizon 120 monorail locomotive


    BIZON 120 monorail locomotive was developed by FITE a.s.
    to complement the produced and offered transport systems with a powerful, high-performance and environment friendly traction device. The inclusion of BIZON 120 in the production programme formed a versatile system of equipment produced by FITE a.s. which are designed for transport of extra heavy loads.Bizon 120

    BIZON 120 locomotive was developed by FITE a.s. employing state-of-the-art elements and technologies. PERKINS 1104 C (D) diesel engine being a heart of the machine is not only powerful but also environment friendly. CO and NOx concentrations comply with EURO 2 (3) standards. In addition, the exhaust system is equipped with a catalytic converter reducing the CO concentration.

    Standard equipment of the locomotive includes continuous methane sensor and automatic extinguishing system to improve safety of operation. The electronic control system provides the operator with continuous indication of the locomotive speed, status of control sensors as well as pressure and temperature of the different devices. The actual engine cooling temperature is indicated through an analog output. All values are registered with outputs available in the form of diagrams. The diagrams indicate also the locomotive utilization, speed profile, routes travelled (in cm scale) as well as durations and accurate start/end times of idle periods per shift.

    The elecrohydraulic control of the locomotive is easy to manage by the operator; most of the functions are controlled from the operator's station (including, for example, auxiliary hydraulic system), powerful diode lamps are turned on and switched automatically according to the travel direction. Due to safety reasons the electrical equipment is of power line type in the engine section and intrinsically safe (all sensors and lighting) outside the engine section. This design prevents damage of power cables between the power supply unit and appliances on the locomotive.

    The locomotive is robust, compact and small allowing to couple and transport more load, arrive closer to the working site and get through confined areas.

    • Pressure multiplicator (supplied as an optional accessory for wet tracks) allowing to increase the drive pulley pressure by depressing an electrical pushbutton in order to improve the locomotive traction properties when on wet monorail sections
    • Hydraulic system with Rexroth 180 ccm pump enabling to achieve higher speed (eliminating the need of drive isolator to increase the speed of locomotive with 4 drives)
    • Available with 4, 5 or 6 drives (80 kN, 100 kN or 120 kN traction force, respectively)
    • A train set can be coupled within the locomotive (between engine-gearbox assembly, drives and cabins) and additional drives can be joined at the set end.
